Step #1: Release the top circumferential locking straps (E&F), then unlock the stirrup straps from the underliner (C&D). Place your heel deep into the neoprene underliner. Close the Velcro tabs (A) firmly across the forefoot. Next close the upper shin tabs (B) across the front lower leg. Step #2: Raise your foot toward your knee (dorsiflexion). Lift the inside medial stirrup (C) while applying mild tension. Then lift the outside lateral stirrup (D), so that the outside or lateral side of the foot is elevated or everted. Adjust the tension to the deisred level of support. Step #3: Lastly close the two top circumferential Velcro straps (E&F). This will lock medial and lateral stirrups into place. The unique addition of an enclosed U shaped spiral stay aids in controlling downward migration of underliner and helps to hold the heel in place. An alternate use of the stirrups is to apply equal upward pressure to both stirrups; this will stabilize the ankle in the neural position. |
